The Institute for the Environment (IENV) Student Ambassadors Program

Is the environment what you concerned about and advocated for protection? Then, here is an excellent chance for an environmentalist like you to be part of a diversity of environmental projects – Join the IENV Student Ambassadors Program today!

Projects at IENV can be mind-boggling, from air quality science, climate resilience to resource management. IENV Student Ambassadors will have the opportunity to participate in these projects, to foster transferrable skills & interdisciplinary knowledge that is essential in the future workplace.

IENV collaborates with various stakeholders, including academic, industrial, and environmental non-governmental partners. By joining the Program, Ambassadors can also obtain insightful topical issues and build a professional network in the environmental field. For instance:

  • Clean Air Challenge Award is partnered with Clean Air Network.

COMMITMENTS & OPPORTUNITIES

The Program requires a total of 16 hours of services with a combination of the following activities:

SPECIAL: CLEAN AIR CHALLENGE MENTORSHIP

Clean Air Challenge is a one-of-a-kind project that starts an air issue-focused competition. You will be a dedicated mentor to a participated secondary school, liaising, co-learning and assisting students to develop their idea a work that echoes to air-STEAM.

Event Management & Coordination

Event connects people – As part of the IENV team, you will be our representative to introduce projects to different stakeholders across events. In macro-sized events such as CARe and Eco Expo Asia, you will be assisting in event operation and logistic arrangement to understand the “essentials” as working behind the scenes. In micro-sized events such as GreenFest and PRAISE-HK UI/UX Workshops, you will facilitate dialogues and collect feedback from target groups.

School Activities & Educational Materials

Practice makes perfect – Plan, prepare and participate in our school activities from the PRAISE-HK project and more. You will be giving translating technical languages to layman language, letting primary to secondary school students to environmental knowledge through your best public speaking and presentation skills. Production & Social Media Marketing

Creative Communications matters more than ever in this digital age – we welcome any idea to promote our projects. On top of copywriting on our social media, team up with your friend to develop a song, a dance, or curate your own illustration! It’s your call! RECOGNITION

The appointment period for IENV Student Ambassadors is from September 2021 to May 2022. A certificate will be awarded to Ambassadors who completed 16 hours of service to appreciate his/her dedication and contribution.
